The Grasshopper and the Ants

In a field one summer’s day a Grasshopper was hopping about, chirping and singing to its heart’s content. An Ant passed by, struggling along with great toil with an ear of corn he was taking to the nest.
“Why not come and play with me,” said the Grasshopper, “instead of toiling in that way?”
“I am helping to put up food for the winter,” said the Ant, “and I recommend you do the same.”
“Why bother about winter?” said the Grasshopper, “we have plenty of food right now.”
But the Ant went on its way and continued to work hard gathering food.
Winter came along quickly and Grasshopper had no food, he began to starve.
While the ants distributed the food they had gathered during the summer.

Moral: To work today is to eat tomorrow.
