Alligators are known for their sharp teeth. Their eyes are set high on their head so they can see above the water while they are swimming. Alligators swim by moving their tails back and forth from side to side. The alligator’s skin is very tough.
Alligators eat fish, snakes, frogs, turtles, and small animals. They grab their pray with their jaws and twist around and around in the water.
Alligators live in lakes, swamps, and rivers in the Southern United States and the Yangtze River Valley in China.
